Wal-Mart to Hire 100,000 Veterans Needing Jobs
Tuesday's announcement had traffic up at local Fayetteville retail store

Tuesday Wal-Mart announced their initiative to assist Veterans find jobs. Not just in our local military community either. One stipulation - they cannot have had an honorable discharge the year prior.
According to remarks made in a speech, more than 100,000 Veterans will be hired over the next five years near the end of May.
Letβs be clear: Hiring a veteran can be one of the best decisions any of us can make,β said William S. Simon in a keynote speech to the National Retail Federation, according to The New York Times. βThese are leaders with discipline, training and a passion for service.β

Although the initiative won't begin until the summer, a manager on duty at the Skibo Road location, said at least 12 people came in looking for applications today after the announcement.
