Identity released of body found in Spring Lake

The State Medical Examiner’s Office has released the identity of a man whose body was found earlier this week in a wooded area in Spring Lake.

Howard Pearce, 59, of 116 Rainbow Court, Spring Lake was reported missing to Spring Lake Police in February, 2013.

On March 12, 2013 Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to 128 North First Street, Spring Lake, after a child playing in the woodline discovered the body.

Due to the condition of the body, the Medical Examiner was unable to determine the exact cause of death.
