Woman Arrested in Connection to Spring Lake Homicide

Cumberland County Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives have charged a local woman with the death of an elderly Spring Lake man.

Sherece Parker, 21, of 1416 Alden Street, Spring Lake is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond, for first degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Parker is charged with the death of 68-year old James “Esaw” Williams of 403 Rutherford Street. He was found dead inside his home on Sunday, December 16, 2012.

An autopsy performed by the State Medical Examiner determined Williams died of blunt force trauma to the upper body.

Parker will make a first court appearance on Friday, January 4, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. in the Detention Center Courtroom.
