Free Lake Norman Shredding Event: How To Get Rid Of Old Documents

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — If you could use a head start on spring cleaning or just want to protect yourself from potential identity theft, residents from around Lake Norman will soon have an opportunity to safely purge old personal documents.

A free document shredding event is set for Saturday, April 24 from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Veterans Park, located at 201 Huntersville-Concord Road in Huntersville.

Organizers ask that participants enter the parking lot from Main Street. The event will adhere to coronavirus safety protocols, including social distancing, along with the use of masks and hand sanitizer.

Participants will be allowed to drop off up to three boxes of personal and confidential records for shredding at the Shred-It truck, organizers said.
