Huntersville Commissioner Helping Homeless For Her Birthday
Stacy Phillips doesn't want anything for herself; instead, she wants to help those in need.
HUNTERSVILLE, NC β Huntersville town commissioner Stacy Phillips is collecting thermals for people without shelter as temperatures fall in North Carolina, and that's all she's asking for her birthday wish.
"As I go up in my 30s, our temps are going down in the 30s," Phillips said. "The only thing I want for my birthday is thermals for the homeless community living outdoors." Her birthday is Nov. 11 but don't consider that a deadline; she says anything helps.
Phillips, who has been working with the unhoused for years, says thermals are desperately needed and one of the least donated items.
