Huntersville Police Continue Search For Fatal Shooting Suspect

Police are looking for a man they said shot and killed another man in an argument in a basketball game Aug. 30 at North Mecklenburg Park.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC β€” Huntersville Police have released a sketch of the suspect that authorities believe was involved in a fatal shooting that took place during an argument at North Mecklenburg Park last month.

Police describe the suspect as being a male in his 20s or 30s, standing 5-foot-10 with a slim build and with fizzy hair and with tattoos on both of his arms, police said.

The incident took place between 6 and 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 30 at North Mecklenburg Park, which is located at 16131 Old Statesville Rd. Police arrived to find a man with a single gunshot wound that police said he sustained following an argument that took place during a basketball game. Shots were fired during the argument and the victim was hit and was taken to a local hospital.

Police announced that last week that the victim recently died from his injuries and that their investigation into the incident now involved homicide charges.
