Lake Norman Residents Invited To Talk Transportation, Bus Service

CATS is looking to strengthen and expand their connection to the growing Lake Norman area.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC β€” The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is hoping to hear from Mooresville, Davidson, Cornelius and Huntersville residents about what they need to do to strengthen transportation options in the Lake Norman area.

CATS began a study to see what it would look like to expand MetroRAPID, or the quick bus service from towns north of Charlotte to the Queen City. According to CATS, the goal is to provide reliable options especially to deal with the ever-growing traffic issues.

Right now, they're looking at park and ride locations, like you see behind Cookout on Old Statesville Road in Cornelius. They're well-lit and secured parking areas where people can drop off their cars and catch a bus into the city.
