- What are the chances of being hit by lightning? Fifteen-year-old Brynnlee Steger, a lifeguard at the pool in the town of Landis, was struck by lightning in front of her mother, during the Monday's severe storms. She was reportedly in the process of going to get an umbrella on the pool deck when she heard thunder and then got struck by a lightning bolt. Her mother was there, and she and Steger's boss carried her to safety where she was going in and out of consciousness. According to Yahoo News, "[Steger] suffered nerve damage and will need physical therapy." (Yahoo News)
