  1. A home that reportedly sold last year for $2 million just last year, located along Barber Loop and Old Arborway Road, which is just off Brawley School Road, exploded around midnight on Monday sending one to the hospital. According to Fox 46 Charlotte, "When the Iredell County Sheriff's Office arrived, deputies reported a heavy smell of natural gas on the property. Hazmat crews were immediately called to assist with the situation. Officials haven't yet determined what caused the explosion." (Fox 46 Charlotte)
  2. It's hot this week and the Town of Mooresville is reminding residents that the heat is no joke. Mooresville Fire-Rescue & Fire Marshal Woody is urging all residents and visitors to use extreme caution when outside. He advises, "Drink lots of water, do not get dehydrated, avoid outside activities, during the hottest part of the day (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) and if you must be outside, take breaks in the shade. In addition, he warns don't leave a child or pet in a car alone. It takes just minutes for the temperature inside to dangerously rise and when taking your pet outside to use the bathroom, avoid walking them on asphalt/roads. With this heat, they can very easily burn their paw pads. Ensure your pet has plenty of cool air and water during the day. When in doubt, stay in the AC." (Town of Mooresville NC via Facebook)
  3. Following a seat fitting at Team Penske’s shop in Mooresville, Josef Newgarden will make GTP Debut in Penske Porsche at Motul Petit Le Mans. According to Sportscar365, "The NTT IndyCar Series star, who won this year’s Indianapolis 500 for Team Penske, will join full-season drivers Matt Campbell and Felipe Nasr in the No. 7 Porsche 963, while Laurens Vanthoor has been drafted into the lineup of the No. 6 entry with Mathieu Jaminet and Nick Tandy." Good luck drivers! (Sportscar365)
