  1. Supporting projects and programs throughout the community that aid veterans' affairs, human services and education the Iredell County Community Foundation has awarded $185,500 in grants to 27 nonprofits. Some of that funding includes the allocation of $10,000 to Veterans Bridge Home, $15,000 to Boys and Girls Club of the Piedmont and $10,000 to ElderCenter. According to Statesville Record & Landmark, "The foundation has invested more than $2.7 million in projects and programs that support Iredell County residents since 1998."(Statesville Record & Landmark)
  2. Students were back at school Tuesday, celebrating! Not because of school, but because of the ribbon cutting for the new playground at Lake Norman Elementary. The event was accompanied by some cool and tasty popsicles and the kids were encouraged to enjoy the new equipment. According to the Mooresville Tribune, "The school’s parent-teacher organization raised most of the $150,000 needed for the project and the Williams Company, a natural gas company, contributed $50,000."   3. Happy five-year anniversary to Two Fingers Automotive in Mooresville.
