  1. You can see the Rio 150 Mexican restaurant on an episode of “America’s Best Restaurants’ Roadshow.” The episode will reportedly be on social media in the coming weeks. According to the Mooresville Tribune, "America’s Best Restaurants is a national media and marketing company that focuses on local, independently owned restaurants. It came to Rio 150’s River Highway location — a second location will open later this year at Mooresville’s Mill One development — to highlight the restaurant on its social media channels." 2. NASCAR Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace’s Buffalo Chip's Charity Ride, which is a key piece of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, benefits the NASCAR Foundation as well as the Rapid City Special Olympics. Reportedly, the proceeds are evenly split between the two organizations. According to NASCAR, Wallace serves on the board of directors of The NASCAR Foundation, which works to improve the lives of children who need it most within the NASCAR community through initiatives like the Speediatrics Children’s Fund and the Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award. 3. There are a number of animals currently available for adoption at the Iredell County Animal Services in Statesville. If you are looking for a furry friend, look no further. According to the Mooresville Tribune, "All of this week’s pets have been spayed or neutered and are looking for their forever homes. Come and meet them. Any dog/puppy that has been in the shelter 30 days or more can be adopted for free and cats/kittens in the shelter longer than 20 days can be adopted at no cost. Animal control has waived the adoption fee on all dogs and puppies through Friday and $5 on all kittens and cats." (Subscription: Mooresville Tribune)
