Here are the top stories in Mooresville today:

  1. Bucks for the Brave charity events have been announced by NASCAR Driver Spencer Boyd and long-time partner, Record Rack® premium wildlife feed (brand owned by Cargill, Inc.). According to SpeedayMedia.com, "Veterans (no longer serving) and retired First Responders (Law Enforcement, Firefighters, EMTs) can win the hunting experience of a lifetime. And for the first time, Bucks for the Brave will also feature a women-only hunt. The window for nominations will be open on July 4 through Sept. 11." (SpeedwayMedia.com)
  2. Tuesday was a clean-up day for the area after a storm hit Monday. In the Lake Norman area crews were working to clear away broken branches, leaves and wet areas. On Christy Lane a large tree went down on the residential road causing a challenge for travel. Luckily, landscaping and tree removal companies worked together to clear the debris, so residents remained safe and able to travel. (Fox 46 Charlotte)
  3. Looking for a furry friend? There are several pets currently looking for their forever home. These animals in need are available for adoption at Iredell County Animal Services, which is located 430 Bristol Drive, Statesville. According to the Mooresville Tribune, "All of this week’s pets have been spayed or neutered and are looking for their forever homes. Come and meet them. Any dog/puppy that has been in the shelter 30 days or more can be adopted for free and cats/kittens in the shelter longer than 20 days can be adopted at no cost. Otherwise, the shelter is offering a $20 adoption fee for cats. Regular fees are cats/kittens, $65, dogs/puppies, $80." (Mooresville Tribune)
