Here are the top stories today in Mooresville:

1. Scam alert! There is a scam regarding the 150th Anniversary Celebration. If you are contacted and told that you won Bands, Brews & BBQ premium seats and are asked to click a link, don't! Although Mooresville is giving away premium seats to the Bands, Brews & BBQ event, there is no link you have to click to receive the tickets. According to a Facebook post from the Town of Mooresville, "[If you win], you will be reached out to directly with information on how to claim your tickets." (Town of Mooresville NC via Facebook)
2. On Sept. 1, come and Rock the Park in Mooresville at Liberty Park, 255 E. Iredell Ave., at 6:30 p.m. This community event is free. So, gather friends and family to celebrate the end of the summer. According to the Charlotte Observer, "The concert series is wrapping up for the season by bringing back the '70s. Take a time machine back to the disco decade and enjoy some tunes from The Groove Machine. Food and drink trucks will be on site." (Subscription: Charlotte Observer)
