- Congratulations to Cody Hoyle of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, who won the Bass Fishing League Super Tournament on Lake Norman. According to BassResource.com, "[Hoyle] caught 10 bass weighing 29 pounds, 9 ounces, to win the two-day tournament [which] was the fifth and final regular-season event for the Bass Fishing League North Carolina Division. Hoyle earned $5,446 for his victory." (BassResource.com)
- North Carolina's A&T’s Blue and Gold Marching Machine got the news that they will be performing in January in the 135th Tournament of Roses Parade. According to the Mooresville Tribune, "The band was notified that they were selected based on their 'musicianship, showmanship and amazing talent,' according to the announcement." - Go to downtown Mooresville on Oct. 6 and get Uncorked & Artsy! There will be lots of art, wine, beer and music. Tickets are $25 per person and include 16 tastings of wine or craft beer and a souvenir glass. Hope to see you there! (Downtown Mooresville)
