- Congratulations to the Greater Metro Conference tournament championship winners, Mooresville! The softball team won against the top-ranked 4A team in the state, Hickory Ridge, 4 to 3 on Friday night to win the championship. According to the Mooresville Tribune, "Cadence Lane delivered the game-winning RBI for the Blue Devils (20-6). The Ragin’ Bulls (20-2), who won the teams’ regular-season meetings by scores of 2-0 and 8-2, managed only three hits against Mooresville pitcher Campbell Schaen. She struck out three. The Blue Devils scored three runs in the second inning and didn’t look back." (Mooresville Tribune)
- Giving money to teachers! The Bright Ideas Education Grant application is open for teachers across North Carolina. In past years, teachers in the Mooresville school system have received the grant and used the money to help fund educational projects in their classrooms. The grant, which is up to $2,000, is funded by the N.C. Electric Cooperatives. Applications are being accepted through Sept. 15. To apply, click here. (Spectrum News)
