- Skywatchers take note! The Blue Moon of August 2023 rises this week, offering a spectacular treat. The Blue Moon will rise on the night of Wednesday, Aug. 30. According to Space.com, "Look to the east just after sunset to find it; it won't be difficult to spot given it will be the brightest and largest moon of the year. This moon is notable [because it is] not only a full moon, but it's also a Blue Moon, which means it's the third full moon in a season that has four full moons, according to NASA." Hope you see it!
