Donate Christmas Trees To Help Lake Norman Fish, And Sick Kids
Volunteers will come get your tree to put in the lake, they only ask for a donation that will go to Shriners Hospital for Children!
MOORESVILLE, NC — Your Christmas tree doesn't have to go in the trash, instead, it can go in the lake.
The Lake Norman Shrine Club and Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists have partnered up again to raise money to help support sick children, all while benefitting the fish population in Lake Norman using old trees.
They'll come pick up your tree, and they ask for a $20 donation or anything you can give, which in turn goes to Shriners Hospital for Children.

According to lakehomes.com, once sunken, recycled Christmas trees become havens for a variety of freshwater wildlife, including small insects, snails and mussels. These tiny organisms attract fish who feed on them, like minnows and craw fish, who in turn, attract such species as bass, blue gill and crappie.
