Field Set For 2021 Municipal Elections In Mooresville

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — Town of Mooresville Mayor Miles Atkins will face opposition this fall during the Municipal Election, and town voters will choose a commissioner at-large, as well as two new members of the Mooresville Graded School District.

At the close of the qualifying period earlier this month, the following candidates qualified to run in the upcoming Municipal Election on Tuesday, Nov. 2, according to the Iredell County Board of Elections:

Town of Mooresville Mayor

• Miles Atkins (incumbent)
• Douglas T. Nesbit

Mooresville Graded School District Board of Education

• Greg Whitfield (incumbent)
• Rakeem J. Brawley
• Lisa Burleyson
• Tamiara Crowder
• Jay Goodman
• Scarlett Overbay-Inman
• Katie Pettigrew

A primary for the Town of Mooresville Commissioner at-large seat will be held Oct. 5. Candidates in that race include:

• Mike Cabe
• Lox Leach
• Gary West
