In light of the recent deadly home explosion in Mooresville which investigators believe started from an accidental gas leak, Yahoo News has offered these safety tips if your home uses natural gas. "If you smell it, don’t try to see where it’s coming from. Leave immediately and report it. Always keep your air furnace filters clean. Have a heating contractor inspect your furnace or boiler every year. Finally, check your chimney flues to make sure they’re open and clean. Gas can build up there. You can also purchase natural gas detectors for your home to be extra sure." (Yahoo News)
  2. Dr. Mark Peacock, a retired Mooresville OB-GYN, overcame a flesh-eating bacterium that attacked his body and left him incubated in the hospital for 15 days, knocking on death's door. However, with the help of a herd of doctors and nurses, as well as the dedication and love of his wife of 48 years, Peacock was able to overcome and is once again up walking. contracted flesh-eating bacteria.
