  1. Mark your calendars for now for the September celebration of Bands, Brews & BBQ Festival in downtown Mooresville. The event will be held on Sept. 16, at 215 N Main St., Mooresville, from 4 to 9 p.m. Hope to see you there! (Mooresville 150.com)
  2. A deadly crash occurred on Tuesday night on Interstate 77 near Mooresville. Police said a Ford F150 driven by Bret Edward Shove, 48, of Wilkesboro did not reduce its speed enough near Exit 33 and struck the broken down 2016 Toyota Scion of Misty Leigh Shook, 47, that was stopped in the HOV lane. Shook was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene and Shove was charged with driving while impaired. (Subscription: Mooresville Tribune)

Congratulations to the Mooresville Police Department, which according to the Mooresville Tribune, "was awarded national accreditation on July 29, by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc.
