Iredell County Deputy Injured In I-77 Crash Involving Reckless Driver, Troopers Say
An Iredell County Sheriff's Office Deputy was injured when a man was speeding, ran off the road and overcorrected, hitting the deputy's car.
IREDELL COUNTY — An Iredell County Deputy was treated for injuries after a crash on I-77 near Tomlin Mill Road, according to state troopers.
The two-vehicle crash happened after 9:30 p.m. Monday night when the driver of a Nissan Maxima was driving northbound right behind the deputy in his Iredell County Sheriff's Office car.
That's when officials say the Maxima driver lost control while going too fast, ran off the interstate, then overcorrected right into the deputy's car.

The driver of the Maxima was identified as Charles Adam Stanley, 33, of Harmony, who sustained minor injuries. Stanley was charged with impaired driving, reckless driving, and failing to maintain lane control.
Deputy Philip Henshaw was treated for his injuries at a local hospital following the crash.
