- Did you know that July is Vehicle Theft Prevention Month? In observance of this, the Mooresville Police Department encourages residents and visitors to do the following: lock vehicle doors anytime you’re not in the vehicle; never leave it running – no matter if it’s in your driveway or at the gas station; park in well-lit areas; and don’t leave keys, wallets, laptops, and other valuables in your vehicle. - Seventeen-year-old Landen Lewis has called Mooresville home for the past year while also rising to stardom in NASCAR. According to Motorsport US, "He will be making his NASCAR Truck Series debut today driving the No. 04 Chevrolet for Roper Racing at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course." Wish him luck! (Motorsport US)
- A police chase ended with two suspects with outstanding felony larceny warrants in custody. On Thursday, the suspects’ vehicle was reportedly located by Mooresville officers about 4:50 p.m. at the Village at Byers Creek shopping center. In a WBTV article it states, "The driver fled east on Highway 150/River Highway and south I-77, according to a news release. During the chase, police deployed stop sticks and deflated two tires, but the pursuit continued into Mecklenburg County, according to the release. The pursuit ended near Exit 23 on I-77, where the suspects were taken into custody without incident, police said." (WBTV)
