- With an impressive lineup of players, including 27 seniors, Lake Norman is looking forward to a successful football season this year. According to the Mooresville Tribune, "[Coach Jonathan Oliphant] said, 'If we don’t come out fighting early, we could very well end up being 0-4 and be a good football team. Everyone one of those teams on our nonconference schedule is usually in the playoffs.'" (Subscription: Mooresville Tribune)
- Get ready to cheer on one of Mooresville's own resident NASCAR Cup Series driver Tyler Reddick. According to Star-Gazette, "Reddick, 27, will seek his fifth career Cup victory when he competes in the Go Bowling at the Glen on Aug. 20 at Watkins Glen International's road course." Good luck! - Congratulations to Carson Kvapil who won again at Ace on Friday night. He was driving his No. 8 Bass Pro Shops/TRACKER Boats & ATVs Chevrolet. This win reportedly marks Kvapil's fourth victory of the season. He has eight career victories. (JR Motorsports)
