Lake Norman High School Band Invited To Perform In London
The Lake Norman High School band is being extended a big honor to perform in London, England. The formal invitation is this week!
MOORESVILLE, NC — Wednesday will be a momentous day in the lives of the Lake Norman High School band, per school officials.
A contingent of dignitaries from London, England will arrive at the school to offer the Wildcat Band a formal invitation to perform at the 2023-2024 New Year's Day Parade in downtown London.
The formal ceremony will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday and should take about an hour.

The former mayor of London, Sir Duncan Sandys, will be the person officially presenting the invitation; he's the great great grandson of Winston Churchill.
"The Lake Norman Bands are honored by this invitation to represent Iredell-Statesville Schools and the State of North Carolina for this event, and we thank you so much for your support," said Christopher Brown, director of the Lake Norman High School bands.
