- For the past 12 years, Miles Atkins has been the mayor of Mooresville however, his name will not be on the ballot come November. He has announced that he will not be seeking re-election. (Fox 46 Charlotte)
- Racing cars is in their blood. Race fans everywhere know the Earnhardt name and Mooresville's own Jeffrey Earnhardt, who is keeping the family's famous love for racing going. According to Dominique Clare, "He is Dale Earnhardt Jr’s first cousin once removed. He is a professional American stock car racing driver who competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series." - The Streets Resurfacing Project is set to begin the week of July 10. According to the Town of Mooresville's Facebook page, "The project consists of applying crack seal, removing striping (eradication), and micro-surfacing.
