Mooresville Preparing To Deal With Icy Roads This Weekend
Mooresville has crews scheduled to help deal with any road issues following the projected winter storm.
MOORESVILLE, NC — Mooresville is gearing up ahead of winter weather projected to impact much of North Carolina this weekend.
While North Carolina's Department of Transportation will handle the state and federal roads, Mooresville has its own plan to help the city recover from any road troubles following the storm.
They will not be brining the roads in advance, according to city spokesperson Megan Pleasant. "Because of the prediction of a rainy mix at the start of the storm, the rain would simply wash the brine away," she explained.

Of course, they are keeping an eye on the forecast and can make changes as warranted.
Following the storm, public works crews are prepared to work long hours.

"They have town crews scheduled to come in at midnight on Sunday. Those employees will work 24-hour shifts until the storm ends and the streets are cleaned up," Pleasant said.
People are advised to stay off the roads if they're able to do so.
