- Tess Stang is Mooresville's first Eagle Scout. She was one of the original Troop 1166 Scouts and has risen through the ranks. According to the Mooresville Tribune, "The requirements for the Eagle rank includes learning how to survive in the outdoors, cooking in the outdoors and lots of first aid skills. Only about 6 percent of all Scouts BSA members earn Eagle." Congratulations, Tess! (Mooresville Tribune)
- Mooresville High School seniors graduated debt free thanks to a generous donation of $27,359 from the Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church. The donation, a collection during the season of Lent, went to cover any unpaid charges that a graduating senior of the class of 2023 accumulated during their years at Mooresville Graded School District. According to the Mooresville Tribune, "Because the amount was more than the amount of senior debt, the excess was applied to unpaid lunch charges of the junior class." (Mooresville Tribune)
