  1. As part of Mooresville's 150th Celebration, a special Meet and Greet experience has been arranged with the U.S. Olympic Bobsled Team. The event will take place at the Bands, Brews & BBQ Festival Presented by DeBotech, Inc. Mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 16, from 4-9 p.m. These incredible, elite, athletes represent Team USA, and this is your chance to meet them and learn how Mooresville is an integral part of bobsled racing.   2. It has reportedly been determined that the cause of the deadly house explosion that killed NFL star Caleb Farley's father, was a natural gas leak. According to The Killeen Daily Herald, "The fire marshal’s office said Tuesday the point of origin for the explosion remains unknown but is believed to have started in a bedroom. The explosion was also described as an accident and foul play is not suspected." (The Killeen Daily Herald)
  3. Thirty-four-year-old Tailei Qi was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder after he walked into a classroom building at the University of North Carolina on Monday and allegedly shot his faculty adviser and left. According to the Mooresville Tribune, "The attack paralyzed [the] campus. Chapel Hill police arrested Qi without force in a residential neighborhood near campus within two hours of the attack, UNC Police Chief Brian James said at a news conference."
