NC Poet Laureate Set To Speak In Mooresville: Details

Jaki Shelton Green, the state's first African American poet laureate, is set to speak at an upcoming event in Mooresville in September.

MOORESVILLE, NC — North Carolina Poet Laureate Jaki Shelton Green is set to speak at the Mooresville Public Library in September, the library announced.

Green, who was appointed as North Carolina Poet Laureate in 2018, is the first African-American and the third woman in the state to hold the position.

The event is set to take place Thursday, Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m., and will include a poetry reading and a book signing, the library said.
