- It was announced on Wednesday that a former officer with the Mooresville Police Department, Matthew Edward Beebe, 37, of Sherrill’s Ford, was reportedly arrested on four counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. According to WSOC Charlotte, "Detectives found child sexual abuse material on Beebe’s phone, MPD Chief Ron Campurciani said in a news conference after the arrest." (WSOC Charlotte)
- Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus will enter the NASCAR Hall of Fame together during an induction ceremony scheduled for Jan. 19 in Charlotte. The two accomplished drivers were voted in on Wednesday. According to the Mooresville Tribune," Johnson, [is] one of the most accomplished drivers in the sport's history, and his crew chief Knaus combined to win a record-tying seven Cup Series championships. They will be joined by longtime driver Donnie Allison, a member of the pioneer ballot, as part of NASCAR's Class of 2024." (Mooresville Tribune)
- Tonight, Aug. 4, Liberty Park Summer Concert Series, presented by Randy Marion, will welcome The Entertainers, who play beach music, R&B the top 40 and a little bit of everything in-between.
