MOORESVILLE, NC — Food held at potentially hazardous temperatures, food without dates and a kitchen in need of cleaning were just some of the infractions found during recent kitchen health inspections that lowered health scores in Iredell County, according to inspection reports.

During an inspection, the Blue Parrot Bar and Grill lost points on its health inspection score after an inspector found food held at improper temperatures and gaskets in a walk-in cooler were found to be town and in need of replacing.
At Sun Up Cafe, lettuce had to be thrown out after an inspector found it was kept at a hazardous temperature in a prep cooler. Also, several food items, such as salmon, diced chicken, black beans and boiled eggs, were found without date markings and an employee was spotted working without a hair net — all of which helped drop its score to 95.

The lowest health score in Mooresville went to Davino’s Queens Pizza, where numerous infractions were spotted including an employee handling ready-to-eat tomatoes with their bare hands and soil residue and build-up was found on several kitchen items in need of a thorough cleaning.
