- Did you know it is National Preparedness Month? The Mooresville Police Department is encouraging residents to keep a 72-hour emergency preparedness kit. Mooresville Fire-Rescue's Fire Marshal Woody and Ready.gov have some more suggestions of what to keep in your kit, such as water, non-perishable food that can last several days, a manual can opener, flashlights, first aid kit, batteries, phone chargers and portable battery packs, battery operated radio and a fire extinguisher. In addition, things like prescription medication, hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, non-prescription medication such as pain relievers, prescription glasses, extra contact lenses, pet food and extra water for your pet, a sleeping bag or warm blanket for each person and activities to keep everyone entertained, such as books, coloring books and crayons, puzzles, and games. Stay safe! (Mooresville Police Department via Facebook)
- We have to put up with one more super-hot day then we can expect some cooling clouds. According to the Mooresville Tribune, Meteorologist Sean Sublette is forecasting showers, and thunderstorms for the weekend and cooler temperatures. (Subscription: Mooresville Tribune)
