  1. Go to downtown Mooresville on Oct. 6 and get Uncorked & Artsy! There will be lots of art, wine, beer and music. Tickets are $25 per person and include 16 tastings of wine or craft beer and a souvenir glass. Hope to see you there! (Downtown Mooresville)
  2. Annual vehicle emissions inspections are going to be a thing of the past in 18 of the 19 North Carolina counties thanks to an exemption in the state budget. According to the Mooresville Tribune, "The exhaust screenings would be mandated exclusively for vehicles registered in Mecklenburg County if the federal Environmental Protection Agency ultimately signs off on the change. The budget provision gives the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality a year to draft a plan for how the state would maintain federal air-quality standards." (Subscription: Mooresville Tribune)
