Terra Kennedy was named High School Equity Superintendent for CMS. She has been the principal at Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology since 2014. Kennedy was assistant principal at Garinger High from 2012-2014. She was the Career & Technical Education instructional coordinator at Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology from 2008-2012.

Kennedy earned a bachelor's degree in business education from Winthrop University, Rock Hill, S.C. She also earned a master's degree in school administration from Gardner-Webb University, Boiling Springs.

Nicole Portee was named assistant superintendent for operations for CMS. Portee has been the senior executive director of operations systems and support services in Guilford County Schools in Greensboro since 2019. She worked in Denver Public Schools in Denver, Colo. as the executive director for transportation from 2010-2019 and as the terminal safety and training supervisor and manager from 2003-2010. She was a workforce planning manager at United Parcel Service in Denver, Colo. from 1990-2003.
