
junior pitcher Brittanie Fowler has been named to the second team All-Ohio Division II softball team.
Fowler was one of the key players in the Eagles' sectional championship this season, with a 9-7 record, 177 strikeouts and 31 walks in 115 innings pitched, and a 0.97 earned run average.
She struck out 16 batters in Avon's 1-0 win over Vermilion in the sectional final.

Offensively, she had a .325 batting average with five home runs and 19 RBI.Â
Avon coach Ken Matuszak said that Fowler has given an oral commitment to Marshall University, a Division I school.

"She is a leader on and off the field," Matuszak said. "Brittanie is committed to making herself a better softball player every time she steps onto a field."
