Crushers Lose in Bottom of the Ninth

Windy City scores three for walk-off win

A three-run rally in the bottom of the ninth lifted the Windy City Thunderbolts over the , 5-4, Saturday night in Crestwood, Ill.

According to a report from the team, the Crushers (13-21) t00k a 4-2 lead into the bottom of the ninth. Ryan Basham started the Thunderbolts' rally with his fourth single of the night. That was followed by a Nick Kuroczko double, and an RBI infield single by Brandon Anderson. Crushers reliever Ruben Flores (2-2, 4.95 earned run average) walked Mike Torres to load the bases, then hit Zack Aakhus to bring in the tying run. Devin Shepherd then hit an RBI single for the walk-off win.

Patrick Norris had three singles to lead the Crushers. He has a 10-game hitting streak going.

Nick Mahin hit an RBI double for the Crushers to extend his on-base streak to 19 games. Jason Taylor had a single to stretch his on-base streak to 15 games. 

 Jairo Cuevas (0-1, 7.00) takes the mound for the Crushers in Sunday's 7:05 p.m. game against the Thunderbolts  (20-14).
