Crushers Lose in Early Game

Lake Erie loses to Normal in another high-scoring game

An early 7-0 deficit proved too much to overcome for the , as they fell to the Normal Cornbelters, 11-7, in a Wednesday morning game at .

The game was played Wednesday morning as part of School Day at the stadium. Students from 15 area schools attended the game.

The Cornbelters (5-6) scored six runs in the second inning to build the 7-0 lead. The win snaps their four-game losing streak.

The Crushers (5-6) rallied late, getting four runs in the bottom of the eighth, but that was as close as they could get. Paul Fagan (0-1) gave up eight runs on eight hits in two and third innings for the loss.

Kyle Boe led the Crushers offensively, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI.

Normal and the Crushers wrap up their three-game series with a 7:05 p.m. game Thursday. Travis Risser (0-2) gets the start for the Crushers.
