Once again, the Crushers (6-8) took an early lead as Patrick Norris scored from third on a groundout by Andrew Davis in the first inning. But the Miners tied the game in the bottom of the fourth, and scored four runs in the fifth to take command.

Davis hit a two-run homer in the seventh to get the Crushers within one, but that was as close as they could get.Â
Andrew Weeks (2-1) was charged with the loss for the Crushers, giving up five runs on eight hits through four and two-thirds innings.

Davis went 2-for-4, scoring twice and driving in three runs.
The Crushers are off Monday before playing a three-game series against the Normal Cornbelters Tuesday through Thursday. They then return home to Avon Friday for three-game series against the Miners and the Traverse City Beach Bums at .
