Crushers Win in Eight Innings
Chris Luick singled home Kyle Shaffer in the bottom of the eighth.

The won their second straight game Sunday night, a 6-2 victory over the Windy City Thunderbolts after the game at was called in the eighth inning because of rain.
The win was the third in the last four games for the Crushers (10-18) since snapping a franchise-record seven-game losing streak last week.
According to the official box score, the Crushers fell behind, 2-1, after the Thunderbolts (16-12) scored twice in the top of the fourth. The Crushers responded with two runs in the sixth and another two in the seventh to build a 5-1 lead.

Chris Luick singled home Kyle Shaffer in the bottom of the eighth. Luick then stole second and continued on to third after a throwing error by Windy City catcher  Zach Aakhus. That's when the rain delay started and, an hour later, the game was called.
Paul Fagan (1-4) got his first win since returning to the Crushers this season, giving up two runs on five hits in seven innings.

The two teams will face each other again at 7:05 p.m. Monday. Andrew Weeks (2-3, 5.01 earned run average) is slated to start for the Crushers.Â
