
- Are you ready for some duct tape? The annual is Friday through Sunday. Not only is there music, a parade, fashions and sculptures made of duct tape, but we're getting Miss America! Teresa Scanlan, who loves crafting, is said to use duct tape often in her crafts. Avon Patch and other area Patch editors will be on hand over the weekend, and will be in the parade.
- There's a full agenda at Monday's 7:30 p.m. meeting. Before the meeting, there are public hearings on an ordinance to include Nagel Road in the city's master trail plan, and an ordinance on reducing the number of parking spaces fast-food restaurants with drive-thrus are required to have. Both ordinances are on the meeting's agenda for a vote, along with voting on the financing plan for the Nagel Road interchange. At , mayor Jim Smith recommended that property assessments not be a part of the financing.
- Treat yourself and help some young athletes as Avon Middle School's cross country team will hold an at from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Coaches will be serving up frozen treats and a portion of the sales benefit the team.
- The continue their homestand with a three-game homestand against the Traverse City Beach Bums starting Monday. Wednesday's 7:05 p.m. is Avon Community Day. Avon residents get $1 off tickets with a valid ID. Local businesses will be on hand in the stadium.
- The kicks off its at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Comedian/juggler/ventriloquist Mike Hemmelgarn will perform.
