1. A benefit for 15-year-old Avon resident Scott Scarvelli, who was paralyzed in a motocross accident, will be at  from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Mention Scott's name when ordering. Another benefit is being planned for May 14 at Quaker Steak and Lube in Sheffield.

2. Enjoy free pancakes and use the chance to help seriously ill children. Monday is Perkins Pancake Day at . You can get free buttermilk pancakes. In return, you're asked to make a donation at the restaurant to Give Kids the World, a retreat for seriously ill children and their families in central Florida.

3. Want to be a star? Take the first step Sunday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Crocker Park at an in the movie "Boot Tracks," starring Matt Dillon and Michelle Monaghan, which is being filmed in Cleveland.

4. Bibliofiles have a shopping spree this week. Friends of the Avon Branch Library are holding a from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the library.
