Flooding Survey Response Slow in Coming
City Engineer Robert Knopf hopes to use information to find potential problems

Less than 20 Avon households have turned in a survey created to find out more about the floods of Feb. 28 that left several homes in Avon with either water or, in some cases, raw sewage, in their basement.
City engineer Robert Knopf said he hopes more responses are coming in. He said the survey will allow his department to get a fuller, more accurate picture of what happened that day, and where.
The survey also asks about prior flooding. Knopf said that can help his department find other problems. A similar survey done while he was working elsewhere helped lead to finding out that tree roots had damaged a line in one neighborhood, which explained the area's flooding problems, Knopf said.
