Moms Talk: Saying "Bye-Bye" to the Binky
Photos of Suri Cruise using a pacifier spark online conversations

Remember the days when celebrity gossip was gotten in one place -- the checkout stands at the supermarket?
Today, there are entire television channels devoted to celebrity. Go online, and you can find sites for everything from tittilating blind items to celebrity moms and their offspring.
US Magazine ran a photo of the always fashionable Suri Cruise, the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Suri, who will turn five years old in April, had a pacifier firmly in place in her mouth. Last year, another photo surfaced of her drinking from a baby bottle.

What do you think when you see these pictures? Both those photos sparked much conversation (and judgment) online. Genuine health issues -- specifically, dental -- have been brought up. There are concerns that prolonged pacifier use can cause teeth to come in slanted. There has also been comment and snark about indulgent parents, spoiled brats and Scientology.
Let's talk binkies, bottles and the battles over them. Did your child use a pacifier? Until what age? Did you have to take it away or did they self-wean? Did it go smoothly or was it an epic battle? At what age were the bottles given up? Did you ever have to deal with judgment from your mother, your pediatrician, other moms? What tips would you give moms who are facing the Battle of the Binky?
