Police Blotter: DUIs, Domestic Violence and Bad Checks

News from Avon Police Department

Two people were arrested in separate impaired-driving incidents in the early hours of March 27.

Michael Wood, 28, was arrested for DUI around 1:54 a.m. after being pulled over by Avon police in the 3500 block of Stoney Ridge Road.

Sheila Clark, 31, was spotted weaving on Interstate 90 and was pulled over near mile marker 154. She was charged with DUI.

Giving an Assist

Avon police helped Ohio state troopers arrest a man after troopers saw him throw a woman into his car on Route 83 around 6:08 p.m. on March 26.

Gregory Payne ran from troopers after he was pulled over and a gun was spotted in his car. He was caught near in Avon Commons. He was held at and turned over to state troopers.

Domestic violence

A man was arrested after police say he assaulted his wife to the point of where she had to be taken by ambulance  to St. John West Shore Hospital.

Mustafa Marzouk, 28, was charged with domestic violence.

Police were called to the home in the 39100 block of Courseview Drive by the victim's mother around 9:28 p.m. on March 27. Marzouk had taken off on foot before police were called. He was found about 10 minutes later and arrested. He was later taken to the Lorain County Jail.

There was no word on the victim's injuries.

Checks Shouldn't Go Bouncy-Bouncy

A man was arrested at on March 25 after store employees suspected he tried to pass a bad check. Jermaine White, 30, who also had an outstanding warrant from Cleveland police, was arrested around 2:32 p.m. Also arrested were Shonetta Ransom, 23, and Keith Shields, 31.

That's Low

A Hale Street resident told police his mother's credit card company notified him that someone is using the 96-year-old's card. He told police he will get copies of the suspicious transactions for them.

Some Things Never Go Out of Style

Residents of a home in the 39100 block of Camelot Way got some work done on their yard in the overnight hours of March 27. Police reported someone "did a very good job" of toilet-papering the home.
