Starbucks is Coming to Avon

It's almost Frappucino time in Avon.

The city looks to be getting a Starbucks Coffee some time in the coming weeks.

Signs announcing that Starbucks is "coming soon" are in the windows at the location on the east side of City Centre on at 35925 Detroit Road.

Workers were seen installing lights and shelving at the site on Thursday afternoon. The interior looks to be decorated in earth tones, with dark wood for the shelving and trim. A coffee bar with a display case is to the left about 10 feet after you enter. A drive-thru window has been installed. A building permit issued to Starbucks was in the window by the front door.

Residents have been wondering about when or if Starbucks would actually come to town since it was announced last June that the company had leased space in City Centre. Since then, there had been no word from either Starbucks or City Centre's developer, Canton-based DeVille Developments.

Starbucks, DeVille Developments and Goodman Real Estate Services, which is handling leasing of the spaces in City Centre, did not return phone calls seeking comment on Thursday.
