Strong Pitching by Josh Roberts Helps Crushers Get Win

Crushers take two of three in series against Rockford RiverHawks

Josh Roberts pitched eight innings, the longest of any starter this season, and held the Rockford RiverHawks to two runs on seven hits as the Crushers won, 5-2, in Rockford, Ill.

According to the official box score, the Crushers (9-18) scored four runs in the third inning to grab a 5-0 lead, and held on from there.

Patrick Norris went 2-for-4 and scored two runs for the Crushers. Joel Collins and Scott Houin each had two hits and an RBI. The Crushers had 11 hits on the night.

Roberts improved to 3-3 with the win.

The win gave the Crushers two out of three in the series. They return to Avon on Sunday to open a three-game series against the Windy City Thunderbolts at . Paul Fagan (0-4, 6.47 earned run average) will start for the Crushers. Game time is 5:05 p.m.
