You Said It: Advice for Prince William and Kate Middleton

As the royal wedding approaches, we seek advice on marriage.

On April 29, Prince William will marry Kate Middleton in a royal wedding the likes of which has not been seen since William's father, Prince Charles, married Lady Diana Spencer in 1981.

Much has changed since then. Diana and Charles' marriage crashing and burning in tawdry tabloid fashion ended the fairy-tale illusion of "happily ever after" for many who came of age during that time. The fishbowl environment Charles and Diana lived in has become even more intense with the advent of the Internet.

But William and Kate are not Charles and Diana. William and Kate were together for years before getting engaged, Charles and Diana had dated for mere months before setting a wedding date. While William is younger than when Charles married, Kate is ten years older than Diana was, with more education and experience in the spotlight that came down like a tornado on the girl known as "Shy Di." William was also affected by his parents' divorce and his mother's death, all endured in the public eye.
