A neighbor called Avon police around 2:52 p.m. on April 10 to complain that his daughter saw some young people smoking pot at the back of the church property.
Police said they talked with the pastor, who told them there have been similar problems in the past and asked for extra attention in the area.Â

Scam Alert
A Detroit Road resident got money stolen from her bank account on April 8 after she provided information to someone who called her claiming to be from FirstMerit Bank needing account information. Avon police are investigating.

Fight, Then Flight
A man wanted on a warrant by North Ridgeville police was caught and turned over to that department after he got into a loud argument with a couple at their home in the 1500 block of Rosewood Boulevard shortly after midnight on April 9. He tried to go out the back door when police showed up.
It's Not a Toy
An 11-year-old boy was hit on the chest by BB gunfire after a 17-year-old boy fired the gun.
The younger boy was not hurt in the incident, which happened in the 1600 block of Cypress West. The older boy was not charged.
Double DUIs
An Avon police officer spotted two vehicles at Kendera Construction around 1:30 a.m. on April 8. Both drivers -- Roger Hill, 43, and Shawn McChesney, 43 -- were charged with driving under the influence.
Lost and Found
A Schwartz Road resident found a pot pipe in his yard on April 9 and turned it over to Avon police. Think someone's going to claim it?
But if you lost a silver scooter in , it was found and turned over to police on April 11.
Lose a fender? A resident in the 3100 block of Jaycox Road found one on April 11 ... next to his demolished mailbox.
Stop, Thief!
A man broke into a garage in the 3700 block of Nagel Road just before 9:41 p.m. on April 9 and tried to steal a lawnmower a before the resident stopped him. The man, described as skinny, 6 feet tall and wearing black jeans, fled in a dark van.
It's Not a Party Until the Police Show Up
A party in the 36900 block of Julian Street got so loud around 11:51 p.m. on April 10 that a neighbor more than halfway down the street called police to complain. The revelers shut the windows and began winding things down after police told them to keep it down.
Part of a Sleepover is Sleeping
A sleep-deprived neighbor called Avon police after a group of kids at a sleepover in the 36200 block of Falcon Crest Drive were out playing basketball around 11:49 p.m. on April 8. The parents hosting the sleepover brought the kids in.
Seller's Remorse
A Detroit Road resident called Avon police on April 8 because he was worried the man from who he'd purchased his trailer would try to take it back. He told police that he'd gotten a great deal on the trailer, but the seller had since found out that it could have sold for more money. Police talked with both men and told them to settle the matter civilly.
False Alarm
An employee of Avon Womens Wellness Center wanted to test police response, so she pushed the panic button shortly after 1 p.m. on April 8. Police advised her not to do that again.
