AOL to Acquire The Huffington Post

Patch's parent company to buy The Huffington Post; Arianna Huffington to become editor-in-chief of AOL content

Many of you have probably already heard about AOL's CEO Tim Armstrong and The Huffington Post's co-founder Arianna Huffington's recent announcement. 

But in case you haven't, here's the good news: Patch's parent company AOL has agreed to acquire The Huffington Post, and Arianna Huffington is to step into the spot of editor-in-chief of all of our content. 

This includes Patch's about 800 local news sites nationwide.

This probably won't make a huge impact on individual sites like Beachwood Patch, or how we deliver the news to you every day. But, to be honest, it's too early even for us Patchers to know exactly what it means.

What I do know: I'm excited about the move. Personally, I've always admired Arianna's business savvy and her commitment to further women's interests.
