Beachwood to Mark Memorial Day for the First Time

City responds to requests from residents to mark the holiday

This year, the city will plant small American flags on the lawn in front of the facing Richmond Road, one for each American soldier who has died in Iraq and Afaghanistan.

In past years, the city's only recognition of the holiday has been the opening of the Carmen added.

On Memorial Day, May 28, the city will host a small celebration for the display. The flags will stay up until Flag Day, June 14.
